- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- Melt unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and aromatic, then let it cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine brown butter with granulated and brown sugars until glossy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing in vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chopped apples until evenly distributed.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden and center is soft.
- Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
Notes
