Description

Delicious heart-shaped toasts topped with a refreshing tomato basil mixture.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf Fresh Baguette Bread (Or substitute with brown bread or white sandwich bread)
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Essential for toasting)
  • 2 cups Ripened Tomatoes (Finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Minced)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Basil Leaves (Chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar (High quality)
  • to taste Salt & Pepper
  • 1 cup Goat Cheese (Can be swapped with cream cheese)
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese (Freshly grated)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (220°C).
  2. Cut the baguette into heart shapes using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  3. Brush both sides of the heart-shaped bread with extra virgin olive oil.
  4. Bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Spread a layer of goat cheese over each toasted heart.
  6. Mix together the chopped tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  7. Spoon the tomato-basil mixture evenly over the cheese-topped hearts.
  8. Grate fresh Parmesan cheese over the top just before serving.
